Chemical composition stainless steel


The following table is an e
xtract from DIN 267 Part 11. It contains information on the chemical composition of austenitic, martensitic and ferritic steels in % by weight.


1 sulfur may be replaced by selenium
2 may contain titanium up to 5 times the weight % of C with a maximum of 0.8%
3 may contain niobium (columbium) and/or tantalum up to 10 times the weight % of C with a maximum of 1.0%
4 may contain copper up to a maximum of 4.0%
5 may contain molybdenum (prerogative of the manufacturer)
